Expectations & Policies
Cheer Policies and Strikes
~Three minors will result in a major strike
Minor infractions include but are not limited to the following:
- Late to practice … you must be READY TO GO at start time (hair back, clothes on, done eating, etc)
- Not having proper equipment (poms, shoes, etc)
- Having jewelry in/on
- Other minor issues coaches have to repeatedly remind about
- Talking too much
- Getting on phone during water break
- Other issues per coach
~Three MAJOR strikes will result in dismissal from the squad
Major infractions include but are not limited to the following:
- Unexcused absences from practice/games
- No call/message from parent
- Missing for reasons not approved by a coach in advance
- Hair appointments
- Friends birthday party
- Late to a game
- Any behavior outlined in original standards
Again, each violation is handled individually by the coaches based on severity of the issue. This Minor/Major plan is in addition to the Cheer Policies, to be used as a tool to help with the number of athletes on the squad this year. Majors will result in being benched for a half or whole game. Three majors will result in dismissal from the team. Consistency is key in this area.
