Tryout Information

 A meeting will be held on April 8th at 8:00 am for all current 6th and 7th grade students interested in trying out for the 2025-2026 cheer squad. If you are unable to attend this meeting please see Mrs. Boyles in room 108 as soon as possible to get a tryout permission slip.

After completing your tryout permission slip, please return it to Mrs. Boyles or Ms. Moon in room 304 to receive your tryout packet with teacher evaluations. All paperwork must be returned no later than April 24th in order to tryout.

There are three days of clinics, with tryouts being the fourth and final day. You are required to attend at least two days of clinics in order to try out. Clinics and try-outs will be held at SMS in gym #1. 

Clinic dates are listed below: 
● Monday, April 28th 3:00-5:00pm

● Tuesday, April 29th 3:00-5:00pm 

● Wednesday, April 30th 3:00-5:00 pm

● Try-outs: Thursday, May 1st starting at 3pm, students can leave when they are done. 

Students will be taught a cheer, jumps, and a short routine. You will need to wear appropriate athletic clothing and tennis shoes. Please have your hair pulled back and all jewelry needs to be removed. 

Try-outs are in gym #1 on Thursday, May 1st. Try-outs start at 3pm. Once you have tried out you are free to leave. Try-outs are closed to everyone. Please wear dark shorts, a solid plain colored t-shirt, and tennis shoes. We will be keeping 20-25 on the squad.
